My goal as a photojournalist is to depict the spirit and sacredness of people and their surroundings. The cultural heritage and way of life of many different people are often threatened by global events, war and industrialization. I focus on the nobleness of these people and their lands as they strive to keep their autonomy, culture and community alive. While each group maintains its own cultural identity many attributes, expressions and concerns of living are universal, creating a sense of brotherhood, a global village.
Connie, I was looking for you at the conference at Skidmore, to thank you, again. I would have wished to have seen your images, again. I was overwhelmed with information at the point of your presentation, yet upon seeing your images, I awakened and sat in gratitude for the weaving of your heart and soul. In that moment, receiving your “work”, wove me back into a deeper connection . . and there continues to be a resonance ,, , though the images are fading, the note of creation and intent, sounds. Thank you. I live in Great Barrington, MA and would welcome knowing of a show near by. Or relatively near by. Blessings, and thank you. Rosalind
Rosalind,
Thank you so much for your comments. I too had been having issues earlier and once I had presented my feelings changed. I felt I had successfully put my work forward and felt seen. I have a show opening on this coming Friday at Artcentric a really neat shop during Troy Night out in Troy, New York. I will be posting on my site (which currently is under revision) more information shortly. “A Thing of Beauty is a Joy Forever” includes images from a recent visit to the Grand Canyon and a vacation to St John and Virgin Gorda…..a little different than my humanitarian journalism. I have added you to my mailing list.
I’m extremely impressed along with your writing skills as
well as with the layout for your blog. Is that this a paid subject matter
or did you modify it yourself? Anyway keep up the nice high quality writing,
it is rare to look a great blog like this one nowadays..
I had help setting the whole site up but do the blog myself. Thank you.
Everything is very open with a clear clarification of the challenges.
It was definitely informative. Your website is very useful.
